Enjoy an Evening of Storytelling and Songs With Janita

I’ve always felt that at the heart of every singer’s music is their story. My whole life – whether I was climbing the Finnish pop charts at age fourteen, or moving from Helsinki to Brooklyn to make it in the New York music scene – I have been on a journey to find my own unique musical voice. And now I want to share that story with you.

My experience will be an interactive session of storytelling and songs. We will meet at Euphoria Studios, a Manhattan rehearsal space used by artists like Bebel Gilberto and Dianne Reeves, where I will tell you about my ongoing artistic process and learning to express myself sincerely and truthfully through music. Along the way, I’ll let you in on some of the vocal techniques, exercises, books and music that have helped me further my craft. And I’ll be singing a few new songs that I’ve just written, too.

But I won’t just be talking about my journey. More than anything, I want to show you that everyone has an artistic voice if they are brave enough to look for it. I want to inspire you to get creative and active about the things you’re passionate about, but haven’t been able to find the courage or confidence to pursue.

After all, I believe honesty and truth are the source of all great art. By doing the things we love in a way that’s truly our own, each of us can become artists with a story to tell.
