Clothing Artist, Sewing Expert
About this Host
Sarah Gingold began making her own clothes at a young age, but it wasn’t until college that she became truly passionate about the positive effects of DIY clothing. Through her advocacy research, Sarah began to understand that mass-produced clothing not only drives low wages abroad and results in environmental damage, but also just doesn’t fit as well as homemade clothing. She soon began a project to build her entire wardrobe from scratch, using eco-friendly textiles and reducing her carbon footprint along the way.
Today, Sarah spreads her message via Think Outside the Store, a studio dedicated to helping Washingtonians create beautiful and environmentally sustainable clothing art.
Jessica CamachoI enjoyed the sewing class.
Haley RymelThis was so much fun. I actually missed my original class due to my dysfunctional directional abilities, but Sarah was wonderful and let me reschedule it. I already know sewing basics, but it was a wonderful refresher course.
Ann BennerGreat, informative, practical and creative class! Great, engaged instructor!
Joseph HatfieldSarah was a thoughtful and very patient instructor, and I had a great time learning the basics of hand-sewing.
